🎙️ What's the Vibe?
Walking through the doors of Media Reload, I was immediately struck by the cool, laid-back atmosphere — it felt like stepping into a groovy little hideaway from the 60s. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, adding to the welcoming vibe as I browsed the stacks.
🎵 What's Spinning Here?
The selection here may not be the biggest I've seen, but that just makes the hunt all the more rewarding. I spotted some real gems, like a pristine copy of Glen Campbell's latest and a few vintage Bee Gees albums. And the prices were all over the map — some were real steals at just a dollar or two, while a Wings record set me back a cool $12.
💎 Any Rare Finds?
As a serious vinyl collector, I was thrilled to stumble upon a few real rarities here. That original pressing of a Paul McCartney solo album for $20 was practically begging to come home with me. And the staff seemed to know their stuff, pointing out a few other collectibles that I had to snatch up before someone else beat me to it.
🏘️ The Neighbourhood
Tucked away in the heart of Utica, Michigan, Media Reload has a real neighborhood feel to it. It's the kind of place where the locals come to crate-dig and swap stories about their favorite obscure b-sides. Stopping by feels like joining a little community of fellow music enthusiasts — exactly the vibe I love in a record shop.
💰 What's it Gonna Cost Ya?
I have to say, the prices here are pretty reasonable overall. Sure, they've got some of those rare, collectible gems that'll set you back a pretty penny. But I was pleasantly surprised to find a decent selection of used vinyl in great shape, all priced at just a few bucks. And the CDs and cassettes were an absolute steal, usually coming in under $4.50. Definitely a shop where you can indulge your vinyl addiction without breaking the bank.
