🎙️ What's the Vibe?
Stepping through the door, I was immediately struck by the cozy, old-school vibe of this place. It had that familiar, welcoming feel of a classic record shop from years gone by – the kind where you could just lose yourself for hours, flipping through the stacks and soaking up the atmosphere.
🎵 What's Spinning Here?
The sheer volume of their inventory was staggering – over 100,000 records, CDs, and DVDs crammed into a surprisingly compact space. As I wandered the aisles, I stumbled upon all sorts of hard-to-find gems and obscure titles, from vintage rock and jazz to more obscure genres. It was like being a kid in a candy store, with so many musical treasures to uncover.
💎 Any Rare Finds?
The real standouts, though, were the rare and collectible vinyl records they had on offer. I spotted several albums I'd been searching for, including some real hard-to-find titles. The owners, Rob and Amy, seemed to take genuine pride in curating such an impressive selection, and they were more than happy to chat with me about the history and significance of some of the rarer pieces.
🏘️ The Neighbourhood
Tucked away in the charming town of Corning, New York, this little record shop was a true hidden gem. The surrounding neighborhood had a quaint, almost timeless feel to it, with old-fashioned storefronts and a laid-back, friendly vibe. It was the perfect setting for a shop like this, where you could easily imagine stumbling upon musical treasures from decades past.
💰 What's it Gonna Cost Ya?
The prices at CD Cafe seemed quite reasonable, especially when you factor in the shipping costs you'd typically pay for ordering online. While a few items were a bit higher than what I might find on the internet, the overall value was there, especially given the unique and hard-to-find nature of much of their inventory. It was a fair trade-off for the joy of digging through their stacks and supporting a local, independent business.
