🎙️ What's the Vibe?
Stepping into Round Trip Records was like taking a trip back in time. The cozy, well-worn vibe of the place instantly put me at ease, and the friendly banter between the owners, Paul and Dave, had me feeling right at home.
🎵 What's Spinning Here?
As I started browsing the tightly packed boxes, I was blown away by the sheer depth and breadth of their selection. From the classic jazz and rock LPs to the funk and hip-hop gems, it was clear these guys had a true passion for vinyl. I found myself getting lost in their impressive crates, uncovering hidden treasures at every turn.
💎 Any Rare Finds?
While sifting through their stock, I stumbled upon a few real rarities that made my heart skip a beat. An original pressing of Brian Eno's latest album, priced a bit higher than I'd seen at Reckless Records, but still a steal considering its collector's value. And the used section held some true gems, like that hard-to-find jazz title I'd been chasing for ages.
🏘️ The Neighbourhood
Located in the heart of Chicago, Round Trip Records is nestled in a vibrant neighborhood that's clearly full of fellow vinyl enthusiasts. As I wandered the aisles, I couldn't help but overhear the excited chatter of other customers, all swapping stories and recommendations like old friends. It's the kind of place that makes you want to linger, soaking up the energy and passion for music that fills the air.
💰 What's it Gonna Cost Ya?
I'll admit, the prices at Round Trip Records were a bit higher than what I'm used to paying at some of the other shops I frequent. But considering the rare and collectible nature of their inventory, it's understandable. And when I went to sell off a few of my own records, the owners gave me a fair deal, even if it wasn't quite as much as I'd hoped. All in all, it's the kind of place where you know you're paying a premium for the expertise and dedication of the staff.
