As I walked through the door, the warm, familiar crackle of vinyl filled the air, instantly transporting me to the golden days of record shopping. The cozy, well-organized space had a welcoming, nostalgic feel, like I'd stumbled upon a hidden gem from the past.

The Selection:
The selection at Locked Groove was truly impressive. I found an amazing copy of the Whispers' first Janus label release from 1970, as well as a 1969 Brunswick Label gem by The Artistics. And that was just the beginning - the owner, Celeste, had curated an incredible array of used and new LPs, spanning genres from rock and soul to jazz and beyond. I could have spent hours digging through the stacks, discovering hidden musical treasures.

As a passionate vinyl collector, I was thrilled to uncover some real rarities and collectibles at Locked Groove. The standout find was a live Lenny Kaye (of Patti Smith fame) presents Nuggets spin, pressed for Record Store Day. I also snagged a Dream Theatre double DVD, rounding out my haul of must-have vinyl and music memorabilia.

Locked Groove Records is nestled right in the heart of Muncie, Indiana, just a stone's throw from the Ball State University campus. The surrounding neighborhood had a vibrant, college-town vibe, with quirky local shops and cafes lining the streets. I could easily imagine Locked Groove being a hub for the local music scene, a place where students, music lovers, and vinyl enthusiasts converge to share their passion.

The prices at Locked Groove were more than fair, especially compared to other record stores I've visited. The owner, Celeste, clearly puts a lot of care into curating her selection and ensuring that each record is in excellent condition. I walked out with my haul, including that Whispers LP, the Artistics album, and the Lenny Kaye live set, all at very reasonable prices. It was a vinyl lover's dream come true.
