🎙️ What's the Vibe?
Stepping into Generation Records felt like paradise for this vinyl lover. The distinct scent of vinyl and nostalgia fills the entire space, making it all the more magical. One customer nearby said, "The smell is so great," and I couldn't agree more — it's an atmosphere that transports you back in time.
🎵 What's Spinning Here?
I was amazed by the well-stocked collection of American pop vinyls here. It's hard to find such a diverse selection, even in cities like Tokyo. But Generation Records had tons of 80s U.S. pop records, neatly categorized and easy to browse, especially in the basement level. The organization by artist made it super efficient to hunt for treasures.
💎 Any Rare Finds?
Among the gems I discovered were a rare 1950s live concert recording and some amazing soundtracks. The guy who helped me knew exactly where to steer me, and I walked out with six records for under $33 — an absolute steal, especially in Manhattan!
🏘️ The Neighbourhood
Stopping by Generation Records in the heart of New York City felt like a real treat. It's not every day you find a treasure trove of vinyl like this, especially in the bustling streets of Manhattan. I'd heard about this place and it's been on my list for a while, and I'm so glad I made the trip.
💰 What's it Gonna Cost Ya?
First time here and I was pleasantly surprised by the prices. The guy at the counter said they try to keep things very fair, and I can attest to that. I found a Sister's of Mercy vinyl for $30, which is the lowest price I've seen for that album let alone actually finding it in person. Definitely a great spot for vinyl enthusiasts on a budget.
