🎙️ What's the Vibe?
Stepping through the doors of Plan 9 Music, I felt an immediate sense of warmth and energy. The staff were all so awesome and fun to chat with, making me feel right at home as I browsed the stacks. The vibe was just perfect — cool and authentic, like a music lover's paradise.
🎵 What's Spinning Here?
The selection here is truly impressive. Vinyl is definitely the star of the show, with row after row of classic and hard-to-find albums across every genre. But they've also got a killer CD collection and even some old punk band tees and vintage posters that caught my eye. I could've spent all day digging through their diverse offerings.
💎 Any Rare Finds?
As a passionate vinyl collector, I was thrilled to uncover some real treasures at Plan 9. From a mint-condition pressing of The Velvet Underground & Nico to a rare demo tape from a local punk band, I felt like I struck gold with the unique and collectible vinyl they had in stock. It's the kind of place where you never know what sonic gems you might uncover.
🏘️ The Neighbourhood
The shop is nestled right in the heart of Charlottesville, a charming college town with a vibrant arts and music scene. Stopping by Plan 9 felt like diving into the local culture — I could almost picture the indie kids and vinyl enthusiasts who must frequent this place. It's the kind of neighbourhood record store that makes you want to linger and soak up the atmosphere.
💰 What's it Gonna Cost Ya?
I'd heard Plan 9 was reasonably priced, and that certainly held true on my visit. The vinyl was very affordable, with plenty of options in the $10-20 range. Even some of the rarer, more collectible items seemed quite reasonable. And with their selection of CDs, tapes, and music-related merch, there's something for every budget. I didn't have to break the bank to walk out of there with an armful of musical treasures.
